While he loves practice, competition, and performance, his favorite thing about dancing is just having a simple, deeply-connected social dance with a like-minded partner.

 

Jenn is a renowned swing dance instructor with a passion for fostering an inclusive and collaborative learning environment. She emphasizes the importance of follow voice, ensuring equal attention to both leads and follows. Jenn acknowledges the Black cultural roots of swing dancing and encourages dancers to appreciate its rich history. Her strong music background allows her to seamlessly integrate rhythmic concepts and musicality into her classes, helping students express themselves on the dance floor.

 

Javier is a rocket scientist by trade, and he brings a powerful analytical sense which joins the mechanics of dance and the soul of expression. He is well versed in all the swing dances, but specializes in Balboa and Soul. As an international swing dance instructor, he's traveled around the world sharing his joy of teaching and his passion for jazz dances.

Grace brings her love of the dance to her teaching style, encouraging joy in her students, while keeping an emphasis on connection technique. For her, Balboa is a conversation between two people, and she brings her love of that conversation to every lesson, reinforcing strong connection and beautiful basics. She is also a sought after DJ, playing classic songs that inspire dancers of all levels to have fun connecting to the music, its history, and each other.

 

As a dance teacher, Andreas has a warm and comfortable approach towards students. He is known for being good at breaking down the dances in an understandable way through inventive exercises and class contents. As Andreas sees it, teaching is inspiring not only because it allows you to see dancers improve, but also because it offers a possibility to learn more about dancing and to contribute to the ever-changing dance styles. As a dancer, Andreas is known for his unique style, creativity and musicality.

 

Heather strives to help her students be successful on the social floor but her ultimate goal is to open up new avenues for creativity and communication within the partnership. She loves dancing with people of all levels and she is known for her connection, footwork and playfulness. She not only loves teaching, she’s also talking passionately about scene-building, and is known for starting silly and often thoughtful discussions.
